ASOS haul

I love receiving packages in the mail, especially if it’s something I ordered a few weeks ago and forgot about! Today, I came home to a small ASOS package, which brightened up my day.

Here’s what I got:

Sephora Haul: NAKED3, Becca and Tarte

It’s been a long time since I last posted, but here I am again with a fresh new haul from Sephora, courtesy of HopShopGo, a US parcel forwarding service. Sephora, when are you going to listen to your international customers and start offering shipping to Australia??

Anyway, I just wanted to post a quick haul and first impressions of 3 things that I purchased (note: all prices in USD):

  • Tarte Eye-ssentials Amazonian Clay Discovery Kit, $33
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, $52
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Pressed Perfector in Moonstone, $38

Mecca haul: Christmas is here!

Though expensive, Mecca is pretty much the only alternative we have to Sephora here, so whenever I go past the store I can’t help but take a peek inside. Yes, it can be all too much for a makeup junkie to resist so I inevitably buy something each time.

I LOVE seeing all the new products especially around this time of the year when there are so many Christmas themed products and Secret Santa gift ideas! And, I love the festive paper bag.

What I purchased (with some restraint):

  • Kit Cosmetics Multipurpose Wonder Balm, $22
  • NARS The Multiple in G Spot, $58 (so it says on the website, though I think I only paid $40+ for it?)
  • Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Cream lipstick in Nocturnal, $45

First up, the Kit Multipurpose Wonder Balm. I was looking for something that would alleviate my dry, cracked lips, since I found that nothing has worked!! Even in summer, my lips are always chapped and I’ve tried most balms from Bobbi Brown to EOS and Carmex, so I thought I’d give this one a shot since it has no petroleum jelly and is packed with essential oils. Plus, it’s certified organic, made in Australia and travel friendly. What’s not to like?

It is actually pretty good! I’ve used it nearly everyday for a week now and while I haven’t seen a marked improvement in the condition of my lips, I noticed that when I do use it, they’re softer and more moisturised. The balm also stays on for quite a long time compared to my EOS balms, yet isn’t too thick like the Bobbi one is. I keep it next to my bed and use it on my cuticles and any scratches as well.

Note: Do not leave this in direct sunlight as the product will separate and become runnier! I forgot today and left it by the window…

The NARS Multiple is something I’ve been eyeing for a while, but hesitated to get it as I do have a lot of cream blushes. But when I tried it on at Mecca I realised that it’s a cream-to-powder finish which I LOVE since it has longer staying power. I tried on a couple of shades including Orgasm but I wasn’t a fan of the way the colours worked with my skin tone (too light, too shimmery, too pink) but when I tried G Spot I really liked it!

I was surprised at how light the tube was and how easy it is to carry in your bag – apart from the smudges the matte black tube can get from your fingers, it’s quite a travel friendly product especially for quick touchups. Plus, The Multiple is intended for use on the cheek and lips so it’s perfect!

It does try to a powder finish on the cheeks but on the lips, it stays creamy.

G Spot slightly darker and more of a dusty rose shade than how it looks in these pictures, with gold shimmer. The shimmer is not noticeable when applied, and though it looks dark in the ┬átube it can be applied sheer. I’ve always looked best in berry/earthy tones so I wasn’t surprised when I gravitated towards this shade.

It’s also nice to match your lippie to your blush as it ties the whole makeup look together and makes everything coordinate, no matter what eyeshadow you are wearing.

The Hourglass lippie in Nocturnal is also in my favourite shade, berry. I can’t help it! They’re just so pretty and look really festive for this time of the year. Nocturnal is a purple toned berry shade that is a few shades darker than the natural colour of my lips.

The tube is weighty and not something I’d tote around on a daily basis but it does make me feel glamorous when I’m applying it at my vanity!

Nocturnal is not a unique shade but it’s flattering and feels really comfortable on the lips, like a balm. It’s extremely hydrating and pretty much erases any lip lines/dryness/flakiness, as you can see from the photo above. It also has a slight sheen to it and it’s super easy to apply as it just glides on!

I love the formula, to me it’s much smoother and more moisturising than the Laura Mercier Creme Lip Colours or the Chanel Coco Rouge Shines.

Well, that concludes it for today’s haul and mini review! More hauls and reviews to come, particularly of my recent trip to the USA.

Haul from Japan: Lunasol, Addiction, Hakuhodo

Some quick pics from my haul! my mum travelled to Japan last month so of course I had to ask her to pick up a few goodies :) thanks mum!

I heard amazing things about Hakuhodo brushes so I bought 3 eye brushes: an eyeliner brush, eye detail brush and skinny blender brush.

It’s great quality so definitely didn’t disappoint! I only wish I bought more… The eye brushes are all very very small, much smaller than what I’m used to but I suppose they’re made for Asian eyes :)

Then from Addiction, an eyeshadow quad, eyeshadow single and eyeliner. reviews coming soon – this is just a haul!

They also gave me some samples..

Lastly, from Lunasol I got an amazing eyeshadow quad with their signature rose print on the shadows themselves. beautiful!

Haul: Becca Cosmetics

BECCA Cosmetics is one of my favourite higher end makeup brands. I just love everything about it, from its sleek aesthetic to the models they pick for their campaigns and the way their makeup looks on the skin – natural, polished and classy.

Plus, it’s an Australian brand :)

So when I saw they had sale a couple of weeks ago, how could I resist? (The sale is still on – check it out here) My only gripe with the products I received is that they weren’t in tip top condition – e.g. the creme blush was dented in one area and the lip glosses in the palette had moisture beads on them which I found quite odd.

But anyway, here’s what I bought:

Sorry about the poor image quality! I’m looking at investing in better lighting equipment at the moment because nothing annoys me more than poorly lit/fuzzy photos! Read on for my haul…

Continue reading haul: Edward Bess, Art Deco and more!

There are few things better than coming home sweaty from the gym after an intense toning class to find a package waiting for you on the kitchen table… And even better when you find out it’s not a bill but stuff you ordered (and forgot about) from!

I love this site, it’s my go to for hard to find brands, particularly European and American brands at pretty decent prices. Huge pro? Free shipping!

Anyway – read on for pics of the haul!

Haul + Swatches: Bite Beauty, Chanel + Wanderlove

Sunday night is always associated with pre-Monday blues, and the realisation that yet another weekend has gone by so quickly. I spent Saturday at a friend’s house watching the last few episodes of Revenge and Sunday hitting the shops. I’ll show you what I bought later on in this post, but for the meantime here’s a recent haul that I made consisting largely of Bite Beauty products.
