Merry Christmas everyone, and in particular makeup lovers! I’ve just arrived in rainy Singapore where I’ll be for the next two weeks or so, and just wanted to post a few pictures of today’s beauty haul!!
The first ‘haul’ is actually my mum’s Christmas present to me, a selection of products from Sephora. I actually picked them out myself and she had them wrapped as you can see from the pictures below.
It came in a shiny red box that I think I might use for my computer/camera chargers. Inside, I picked out the Make Up For Ever Complexion Starter Kit (around $78 I believe), which came with a face primer, Invisible Cover HD Foundation, HD powder (translucent) and the mineral powder brush. The shade of foundation was customisable and my shade is N118, a neutral toned medium beige foundation.
Since I was on a MUFE kick, I also picked up their famous Aqua Cream eyeshadow in 13, a shimmery orange toned gold (think Urban Decay’s Half Baked eyeshadow) that is supposed to be waterproof – a review will be coming later! It cost $39 singapore dollars.
I also got Laura Mercier’s Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine (S$39), a warm coral-orange shade that’s amazing on warm skin tones and neutral tones like me.
I also purchased the limited edition Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld Eyelash Curler (S$28). This is basically the same iconic eyelash curler, but with a plastic doll thing attached to it (Karl designed this) and the black pads are red (see below). The sales assistant told me the regular eyelash curler was S$32 so of course I went for the limited edition one. Can’t hurt that it had Karl’s name on it, too, even though I’m not a big fan of the doll.
I also purchased Cle de Peau’s concealer in Ocher after pining over it for months and reading countless raves on youtube and on various blogs. It was painful parting with the amount of money for just a stick of concealer, but this will solve my undereye circle/occasional pimple woes! I won’t need another concealer ever again! Besides, it’s my Christmas gift to myself! That was what I was telling myself at least…
But anyway, CdP concealer won the Neiman Marcus Beauty Award as well as InStyle’s Best Concealer of 2012 Award, which is a testament to how great this concealer is. Here is a quick pic of myself with the concealer applied lightly (very lightly) under my eyes. Already it makes a difference to how awake I look and feel!
So that sums up my initial feelings about the concealer. Once I test run it properly I’ll be able to provide a more indepth review, but as if you needed any convincing! ;)
